Sydney Football Stadium, NSW
Sydney Football Stadium Redevelopment, New South Wales
Client: John Holland for INSW
Scope: Supply & Install Temporary Anchors, Walers, Capping Beam, Shotcrete
The newly redeveloped Sydney Football Stadium is a modern, world class venue, positioning Sydney as an international sporting and entertainment destination of choice for sporting and entertainment events.
Ormond Civil completed 500m of Capping Beam, 2400m2 of Shotcrete, Design & Construct of 250 Temporary Hollow Bar Anchors & Waler System to retain the Contiguous Pile Wall. Test Anchors were conducted pre-commencement to successfully verify our design and construction methods in sand conditions.

The location of the Heritage listed Busby’s Bore tunnel in the northern portion of the site had to be considered in the Anchoring design, along with clash analysis with the Foundation Piles. Another challenging aspect of this project was the necessity for multiple contractors to be working in close proximity to each other, due to the high-profile nature of the project, along with Programme and Project Footprint constraints. A team effort with clients Bachy Soletanche, John Holland and the NSW Government ensured the safe and timely delivery of the Shoring Wall on multiple work fronts.
